2022 Tundra vs F-150 – how will the Tundra do in this head to head comparison?

Share

In this comparison video, Publisher Tim Esterdahl pits his new 2022 Toyota Tundra Limited against the truck he owned last year, the 2021 Ford F-150 PowerBoost. See what exterior and interior features he prefers on the Tundra and which he prefers on the F-150 in this 2022 Tundra vs F-150 video. Watch as he drives them both on and off-road, and stick around to the end to hear the answer to the question: “Which truck does he prefer?”

How will the Tundra do in this 2022 Tundra vs F-150 comparison?

Starting with the front end, Esterdahl points out the differences in these trucks. Yes, the 2021 F-150 has tow hooks and the 2022 Tundra does not. But the Tundra has an air dam that only deploys when the vehicle is going over 15 MPH whereas the Ford’s air dam is always down and easily damaged while offroading.

A few more things to note:

  • You can get more packages with more options on the Ford.
  • Ford offers the onboard generator that can power larger tools, or even your house.
  • Ford has a flat floor for better storage in the second row. Toyota has that hump in the middle and the under-seat storage is a raised box.
  • Tundra has a digital rearview mirror and the F-150 does not.
  • The Tundra has larger side mirrors.
  • Console setup is nicer in the Tundra, including better armrests and easier to access wireless charging.

And the list goes on.

This comparison video is so thorough that we simply can’t cover everything in this post. But we will leave you with the video so you can see for yourself what Esterdahl thinks of these trucks. It is our hope that this video will be helpful for those of you who are truck shopping.
