GMC has announced full specifications and pricing for the 2027 GMC Sierra 1500, putting numbers to the redesigned truck’s six-trim lineup. Announced starting prices range from $51,295 for Pro to $87,895 for Denali Ultimate, including the $2,795 destination freight charge.
The headline engine is the new 481-horsepower 6.6-liter V8, but the smaller 5.7-liter V8 delivers the highest available tow rating. There is also a stronger TurboMax, an available larger fuel tank and more standard technology throughout the lineup.

Every price below includes destination. Options and applicable taxes are additional, and prices vary with cab, box, drivetrain and package choices.

One qualification matters here: GMC says Regular Cab, Double Cab and additional configuration availability will be announced as production expands. These are the announced trim starting prices, not a complete price list for every possible Sierra configuration.
Four engines, all with a 10-speed automatic
GMC pairs each of the four engines with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The two new sixth-generation Small Block V8s use both direct and port fuel injection.

The TurboMax gains 40 horsepower and 25 lb-ft compared with the current engine. GMC lists a new turbocharger, upgraded fuel injection, improved thermal management and redesigned pistons among its changes.

Towing and payload: The biggest V8 does not lead every column
GMC’s specification sheet lists the following maximum ratings by engine. These are maxima across the configurations listed for each engine; the maximum towing and payload figures do not necessarily apply to the same truck.

The 13,500-pound towing figure belongs to a properly equipped 5.7-liter Double Cab 4WD with the Max Trailering Package. The listed maximum for a 5.7-liter Crew Cab is 13,300 pounds. Diesel towing tops out at 12,100 pounds with a properly equipped Crew Cab 4WD.
That is why engine output alone is not enough to choose a tow vehicle. Cab, drivetrain, equipment, passengers and cargo all affect what a particular truck can carry or tow. Check the truck’s labels and trailering information before matching it to a trailer.
Available 34-gallon tank and more than 900 miles of estimated range
An approximately 34-gallon fuel tank is available with the V8 engines and 3.0-liter Duramax diesel. GMC makes it standard on AT4X and Denali Ultimate.
With the larger tank, GMC estimates more than 900 miles of highway range for the diesel. That figure is based on GM testing, with official EPA estimates not yet available. It should not be read as a towing-range estimate.
What each Sierra trim brings
Pro: The work-focused entry includes the TurboMax, a trailer hitch and brake controller, a 12.2-inch driver display and a 16.3-inch center touchscreen. Adaptive cruise control, front and rear park assist and an expanded set of braking and driver-assistance features are standard.
Elevation: Adds bucket seats, an articulating center screen with hidden storage, the MultiPro Tailgate, a MultiPro console with a work surface, dual MagSafe wireless charging and ambient lighting. The 5.7-liter V8 and diesel are available, as is Super Cruise.
AT4: Starts with the 5.7-liter V8, a 2-inch factory lift, monotube shocks and 34-inch all-terrain tires. Standard equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, a head-up display and Super Cruise with trailering capability. The diesel is optional.
AT4X: Makes the diesel standard and offers the 6.6-liter V8. Its equipment includes 35-inch mud-terrain tires, Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers, front and rear electronic locking differentials, underbody cameras and a new Baja drive mode. The AT4X AEV Edition will be available later.
Denali: Combines the standard 5.7-liter V8 with Adaptive Ride Control, wood cabin accents, heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and Super Cruise. Both the 6.6-liter V8 and diesel are available.
Denali Ultimate: Makes the 6.6-liter V8 standard, with the diesel available. It includes 14-way heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, a 16-speaker Bose system, an 11.5-inch passenger screen, underbody cameras and 22-inch wheels.
CarPlay stays, and Super Cruise reaches four trims as standard
The new cabin interface retains Apple CarPlay and Android Auto alongside Google built-in features. We covered that decision in our earlier look at GM’s new truck infotainment system.
Super Cruise with trailering capability is standard on AT4, AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate, and available on Elevation. GMC includes three years of the OnStar One plan on the four trims with standard Super Cruise. Drivers must remain attentive, and an active service plan or trial is required. Automatic and turn-signal-initiated lane changes are not available while trailering.
Available camera equipment provides up to 19 views, including front and rear underbody views with a wash system. An available Trailer Brake Gain Assistant adds another tool for setting up a trailer.
When does the 2027 Sierra arrive?
GMC expects the first 2027 Sierra 1500 models to reach dealerships before the end of 2026. Additional cab and configuration availability will follow as production expands.
For buyers, the choice comes down to more than the biggest engine or the most expensive trim. The 5.7-liter leads the towing chart, the TurboMax has the highest listed payload, and the diesel offers the long-range option. The next step is matching those numbers to the equipment and configuration you actually need.
