In this episode, Publisher Tim Esterdahl and Managing Editor Jill Ciminillo spend a lot of time talking about ranged-extended EVs. The hot topic was a possible Ram range extender on the Revolution EV truck. While we’ve heard rumors it’s coming and two outlets have said Mike Koval Jr., Ram Trucks CEO, confirmed it, when we circled back to Ram Trucks directly to get our own confirmation, all they’ll say is “more to come.” So, we’ll keep digging on whether we’ll see a Ram range extender to see what we can find out.
Speaking of range extenders, Mazda has revealed a new MX-30 R-EV with some confusing language about whether it’s got a range extender or a plug-in hybrid — we discuss the difference in the episode, so tune in to find out which is what. While we think either one is a great idea, the bad news is: It’s not coming to the U.S.
Esterdahl and Ciminillo close out the episode by answering viewer questions and discussing the new Chevy HD pricing, and whether the price hike is too much.
Esterdahl and Ciminillo do weekly livestreams on YouTube, which are projected out to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. In 2023, they are switching to a Monday/Tuesday schedule at 8 p.m. EST, so be sure to subscribe to the YouTube channel and follow them on social media for the upcoming live episode timing and topics.
