New 2023 Toyota Tundra SX package revealed

Share

On the heels of launching a new third-generation truck, the 2023 Toyota Tundra SX package will add more style for less money for new buyers.

The 2022 Toyota Tundra was a complete redesign of the full-size truck. This next-gen truck has two different powertrains, both a 3.5-liter V-6 twin-turbo engine and one being a hybrid setup, a 10-speed transmission, a new 5-link coil suspension and a seriously upgraded interior.

Now, the 2023 Toyota Tundra SX package will make its return to the lineup.

What is the 2023 Toyota Tundra SX package?

Basically, the SX package takes the volume-selling SR5 trim and adds a unique style and new wheels. This has been a popular package for consumers looking at the SR5 but wanting a little bit more. It adds extra features but still costs less than the Limited, which is the next trim up.

For the 2023 Tundra, the SX package will be available on double cab and crew max 4X4 trucks. However, bed length is limited to 6-feet, 5-inches on the double cab and 5-feet, 5-inches on the crew max.

The package takes these trucks and adds Dark Gray Metallic 18-inch wheels and then body color matches the outer door handles and rear inboard bumper instead of the standard black.

Door badges are removed for a cleaner look at the 4X4 badge on the tailgate gets blacked out.

Inside the cabin, similar treatment can be found with black accents replacing smoked silver for the trim pieces.

This package is available in White, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic and a Midnight Black Metallic.

Pricing and availability will be announced closer to 2023 model year launch. For reference, the 2021 Toyota Tundra SX package was a $1,630 up charge.

The bottom line

The SX package returns and offers a bit more unique styling on the stock truck. These are great packages for customers who want to stand out from the crowd without spending an arm and a leg on aftermarket upgrades and prefer the stock look.
