The 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer promises to be a very posh and technology-driven offering for Jeep when it eventually arrives in Jeep showrooms. The off-road brand knows this, and has embarked on an elaborate teaser campaign for the big three-row SUV. Jeep’s latest release comes from a brief shot released via Instagram

Like before, Jeep does not give us much detail to work with, but this time around, we do get to see the silhouette of the Grand Wagoneer. Buyers familiar with the smaller Jeep Grand Cherokee will immediately recognize the shape, with the Grand Wagoneer having the same basic profile and curvy rear end.
With the Grand Wagoneer sharing some of its underpinnings with the Ram 1500, we suspect that the similarity is mainly an attempt by the brand to keep it within the same basic design language that has defined their non-Wrangler utility models. The new model will most likely wear the brand’s seven slot front grille, with elegant headlights flanking both sides. The shadowy way the SUV is displayed makes picking out details virtually impossible, so we will have to wait for another teaser to emerge before we learn more on that front.
It’s also unknown what the Grand Wagoneer will bring to the table in regards to its cabin. Prior images showed off a beautifully styled central control knob and splashes of wood trim, but like with the exterior, we will have to wait for more details to emerge before we can make a better judgement of Jeep’s efforts in this particular arena. Look for the Ram DNA to translate to that model’s powertrains being carried over, including future hybrid models that would help the big Jeep meet some of its fuel economy targets.
Jeep announced that it plans to unveil the 2022 Grand Wagoneer on September 3rd, but it still has not formally announced what time the event will take place. Both the Grand Wagoneer and its less ritzy Wagoneer sibling will most likely make their respective debuts together, but we would not be surprised if Jeep chooses to make a bold splash, and save the mainstream Wagoneer for later, with the Grand version having the spotlight to itself. Thankfully, the wait is nearly over, and all will be revealed soon.
