2027 GMC Canyon pricing is out, and the least expensive version now starts at $41,995 with destination. That is $1,000 more than the comparable 2026 Elevation 2WD currently listed by GMC. Move up the lineup, and the AT4X crosses $60,000 before options, taxes or dealer fees.

The higher price brings more TurboMax power, but shoppers still need to pay attention to the drivetrain and trim. That sub-$42,000 starting price is for a two-wheel-drive truck.

GMC’s 2027 Canyon page lists prices before freight. Its destination-charge page adds $2,095. Here is how the starting prices work out:

  • Elevation 2WD: $39,900 MSRP; $41,995 with destination.
  • AT4 4WD: $46,700 MSRP; $48,795 with destination.
  • Denali 4WD: $54,300 MSRP; $56,395 with destination.
  • AT4X 4WD: $58,300 MSRP; $60,395 with destination.

For buyers who want four-wheel drive without moving to AT4, GM Authority’s Oct. 22 configurator report lists the Elevation 4WD at $45,495 including destination. That is $3,500 above the 2WD version. Four-wheel drive is standard on AT4, Denali and AT4X.

These are starting prices, not out-the-door quotes. Optional equipment, taxes, title, license and dealer fees are extra, and the dealer sets the final selling price.

How much more is it than the 2026 Canyon?

Using GMC’s currently posted 2026 prices, the Elevation 2WD rises from $38,900 to $39,900 before destination. The AT4 moves from $45,500 to $46,700, a $1,200 increase.

Denali climbs from $53,300 to $54,300, while AT4X goes from $57,300 to $58,300. Both are up $1,000. These comparisons keep the drivetrain the same: 2WD for the entry Elevation and 4WD for the other three trims.

GMC lists the same $2,095 destination charge for both model years, so those increases also apply after freight. This is a comparison with the 2026 prices posted now, not a claim about the original 2026 launch pricing or what a discounted truck on a dealer lot will cost.

AT4, Denali or AT4X: What does the extra money buy?

The AT4’s equipment includes a two-speed transfer case, an automatic locking rear differential and a 2-inch factory lift. At $48,795 with destination, it starts $3,300 above the reported Elevation 4WD price.

The Denali puts more of the money into the cabin, with perforated leather-appointed seating, wood trim, a head-up display and Bose audio. AT4X adds a 3-inch lift, Multimatic DSSV dampers and driver-selectable front and rear electronic locking differentials.

The AEV Edition remains an optional package for AT4X, not equipment included in its $60,395 starting figure. Also, the most expensive trim does not have the highest tow rating: GMC lists up to 7,700 pounds for Elevation, AT4 and Denali, versus up to 6,000 pounds for AT4X, when properly equipped.

The bottom line: More power for more money

GMC now lists the 2027 TurboMax at 350 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque across the lineup. The 2026 truck is rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet. That is an extra 40 horsepower and 20 pound-feet without buying a higher trim, paired with an eight-speed automatic.

There are also 2027 color, wheel and connectivity changes. GMC’s Elevation feature list includes a universal home remote and 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability, though a hotspot’s capability is not the same as unlimited included data.

The added power is useful, but nearly $49,000 for a starting AT4 is still a lot of money for a midsize pickup. If you are comparing a remaining 2026 with a 2027, price the same drivetrain and equipment before deciding whether the extra power is worth the difference.
