Anyone hoping to buy a new 2027 Ram TRX SRT and immediately flip it for a profit just received some bad news. Ram announced new Ram TRX SRT warranty terms that limit warranty coverage if the original owner sells the truck within the first year, a move the brand says is designed to protect customers from speculators and excessive dealer markups.
Ram limits 2027 Ram 1500 TRX SRT transferable warranty

Ram announced it is updating the warranty and ownership terms for the new Ram TRX in an effort to “protect the integrity and availability” of the high-performance pickup.
According to the automaker, if the original purchaser sells or transfers the truck within the first 12 months of ownership, any remaining Basic Limited Warranty and Powertrain Limited Warranty coverage will end and cannot be transferred to the next owner, where permitted by state law.
Ram also says the original purchaser is responsible for informing any future buyer of these ownership terms.
During delivery, dealership personnel will review the warranty conditions with buyers. Customers who do not acknowledge that review will receive follow-up communication directly from Ram.
The policy does not affect recall-related repairs or federally required emissions warranty coverage.
What is the standard Ram TRX warranty?

The new ownership policy only affects the transferability of Ram’s factory warranty. The original owner continues to receive the normal warranty coverage.
The warranty includes:
| Coverage | Term |
|---|---|
| Basic Limited Warranty | 3 years / 36,000 miles |
| Powertrain Limited Warranty | 5 years / 60,000 miles |
| Rust-Through Coverage | 5 years / Unlimited miles |
| Roadside Assistance | 5 years / 60,000 miles |
If the truck is sold during the first year, the remaining balance of the basic and powertrain warranties will not transfer to the next owner.
This is separate from Ram’s 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty offer

The new TRX SRT ownership policy should not be confused with Ram’s recently announced 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty.
That warranty is currently a limited-time sales incentive offered on qualifying new Ram vehicles and is designed to help drive showroom traffic. It is not replacing Ram’s standard factory warranty and is subject to program terms and eligibility requirements. Buyers should carefully review which warranty applies to their purchase.
A quick recap of the 2027 Ram TRX SRT

The 2027 TRX SRT marks the return of Ram’s halo off-road truck after a brief hiatus. Power comes from the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 producing 777 horsepower, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive.
During the first drive event, Ram engineers said updates including a smaller supercharger pulley, revised calibration and a higher engine redline help deliver improved performance while maintaining durability.
The truck is expected to be in high demand, which helps explain why Ram is taking steps to discourage quick resale and speculative flipping before more enthusiasts have an opportunity to purchase one.
