Lincoln tends to be one of the most underrated luxury brands out there, and part of that is due to the fact that its audience tends to be, well, older. With the debut of the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, the brand looks to tap the younger side of its audience with connected technology and ultra-lux design.

Here are the most important things to know about this all-new SUV.

Window-to-window screenage

The first thing you’ll notice when looking inside the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus is that driver display spans the entire top of the dash and is completely customizable. There is still a center display on the stack, which is also customizable.

As you would expect, the new Nautilus will have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well built-in Alexa, which allows drivers to control smart home devices with voice commands.

A flat-top steering wheel

No, the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus doesn’t get a yoke. But it does get a subtly flattened steering wheel, so that it’s easier to see the screens over the top of the steering wheel – rather than through the wheel.

Other interior enhancements include crystal-inspired ambient lighting and a new sensory experience, called Lincoln Rejuvenate, that curates lighting, screen visuals and scents to create an overall digital experience based on mood.

Hands-free driving tech

The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus will get the 1.2 version of Ford Motor Co.’s BlueCruise. This hands-free driving system is available for highway driving and now has the ability to change lanes when the driver taps the turn signal. It will also suggest a hands-free lane change when following slow-moving traffic.

Two powertrains, no PHEV

For 2024, the Nautilus gets two powertrains, but it doesn’t add a plug-in electric hybrid like Corsair and Aviator. Instead, it favors of a straight hybrid. The base engine will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, which is targeted to deliver 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. The hybrid with mate the 2.0-liter turbo to a 100kW electric motor, and the system will achieve a total output of 300 horsepower. Additionally, the hybrid powertrain will now be available on all trims.

2024 Lincoln Nautilus available in early 2024

This five-passenger SUV get all the lux-level amenities you’d expect from a Lincoln – including the available 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D Audio System and 24-way perfect position front seats. Though orders are now open for the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, it won’t arrive in showrooms until early 2024. No pricing has been announced, but the current Nautilus starts at $40,730, including destination and acquisition fees.

The bottom line

Lincoln has a certain calmness to it that envelops you as soon as you close the door. We’re intrigued by the tech updates, but really hope they serve to add to the “Quiet Flight” experience – and not distract from it.
