The 2024 Buick Encore GX gets a refresh with updated tech and some new styling cues. Though the platform and powertrains are the same, the changes that are on this 2024 trim are significant.

New Buick logo

We saw the new modern Buick logo debut on the Wildcat concept on last year’s auto show circuit, and the refreshed Encore GX is the first Buick to sport this logo in real life. Along with the new logo, the front fascia and grille get restyled.

Avenir trim

Avenir in the Buick lineup is the top-end luxury trim we’ve seen on Enclave and Envision. Now it’s coming to the Encore GX. It adds a unique grille, clear-lens LED taillights, 19-inch Avenir specific wheels, chrome accents, leather seats, standard heated steering wheel and embroidered Avenir headrests.

Virtual cockpit

The 2024 Buick Encore GX is the first vehicle in the automaker’s lineup to get the Virtual Cockpit system, which features 19-inches of glass covering two high-def digital displays. This includes an 11-inch infotainment system and an 8-inch digital cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto is also now standard.

$1k price increase

With the refreshed design and tech upgrades, you’ll also see a price increase. Base to base, you’re looking at a $995 increase. Pricing without destination fees are as follows:

  • Preferred: $26,895
  • Sport Touring: $28,095
  • Avenir: $33,195

With the addition of Sport Touring and Avenir trims, the former Select and Essence trims are gone.

In the press release, Buick says customers will be able to build and order the 2024 Encore GX starting in May, but it doesn’t say when it will actually get into consumer hands.

The bottom line

Buick is one of the more underrated brand out there right now with its “near luxury” materials and design and sub-$30k price tag for the base model. The new Avenir trim will bring even more lux-level amenities with a sub-$35k price tag.

I know it’s cliché at this point, but it bears repeating: This is not your father’s Buick. And if you want something a little nicer than a Chevy or GMC but can’t afford a Cadillac, Buick – and the 2024 Encore GX – might be just the thing.
