2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate revealed with more luxury, tech

Share

Bringing even more luxury to its full-size SUV, the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate takes it to a whole new level with more tech and premium design.

The 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate follows on the heels of the GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate and borrows most of the upgrades for the SUV. This new trim level will make the Yukon Denali Ultimate quite literally the most plush Yukon ever, and it is sure to grab people’s attention.

What’s new with the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate

Without question, the first thing people will notice on the Yukon Denali Ultimate is going to be the front fascia with exclusive Vader Chrome finish accents and additional “Galvano” exterior accents like those used on the Cadillac Escalade. This, along with the polished bright chrome along the window and door panels, with the unique 22-inch 7-spoke bright machined wheels with bright chrome accents and dark paint will make this trim stand out from the other versions of the GMC Yukon.

Inside, it is bathed in an Alpine Umber interior with full-grain leather seats in the first, second and even third rows. This dark brown leather color is reflected in the open-pore Paldao woodgrain trim with a laser-etched topographical map of Mount Denail. Plus, there is Ultimate badging on the seats and exclusive plaited contrast stitching bringing the look all together.

In short, it is exceptional in person as I found out when checking out the Sierra Denali Ultimate.

Oh and if that wasn’t enough, the 16-way power seats include massage and an 18-speaker Bose Premium Series audio system features stainless steel door and headrest speaker grilles. Yup, there are speakers in the headrest.

New tech upgrades

Inside the luxurious cabin, you’ll find plenty of new technology to play with and use while driving to make any road trip that much more pleasant.

First, the GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate gets the new interior upgrades found in the half-ton Sierra trucks with a 10.2-inch diagonal GMC Infotainment system with Google built in running a version of Android Automotive.

Plus, there is wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability as well as available Wi-Fi hotspot and Amazon Alexa built in.

Finally, you can charge your phone via the wireless charging pad. There are corded USB charging ports as well.

Enjoy the open road with Super Cruise!

Finally, the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate will come with available Super Cruise driver assistance technology. This tech allows the vehicle to drive itself in certain situations including the capability to automatically change lanes.

Basically, the system uses pre-mapped out roads, radar and cameras to drive the SUV in certain conditions while you sit back and enjoy your surroundings.

The system works seamlessly and lights up a green icon on the dash and then a green bar lights up on the steering wheel when it is ready. Then, you simply take your hands off the wheel and it will handle the driving alerting you when you need to take over. Plus, a flip of the turn signal and the SUV will change lanes for you and after passing it will move back into the lane you were in.

If that wasn’t enough, you can tow hands-free as well which is a real benefit for long-haul towing operations which be get taxing on the driver.

Under the hood?

Powering the full-size SUV are going to be two choices – a 6.2-liter V-8 or the 3.0-liter Duramax Diesel, which might be the new LZO diesel, both mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

These powertrains, carry over from other trims, will be joined by other carry over tech like standard Magnetic Ride Control, Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, Active Response 4WD with electronic limited-slip differential and Auto Track two-speed transfer case.

Pricing and MPG estimates will be available closer to launch. No other details are available at this time.

The bottom line on the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate

While the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate likely won’t be cheap, the premium materials, unique styling, technology and choice of a gas or diesel power plant are certainly going to create a buzz among consumers. Looking at these pictures, it has certainly grabbed my attention.
