Enough with the teasers! We are so ready to see this all-new compact pickup truck. After months of spy photos and rumors, Ford has officially announced the 2022 Ford Maverick is for sure joining the Built Ford Tough lineup.

But we still have a few more days to wait before we get to see what it really looks like.

Meet the 2022 Ford Maverick

As we’ve seen with multiple new vehicles in the past few years, Ford is using a classic nameplate for a new vehicle. Ford fans have been asking for something like the Maverick since the compact truck segment all but disappeared and the midsize and full-size trucks got bigger and bigger. It seems there is still a need for something that will fit in the garage, be easy to park in the city and take the driver on fun adventures as well as be able to haul gear and supplies.

Ford promises the Maverick will fill this need, and I for one can’t wait to see it!

Where to watch

In true pandemic-world style, the all-new Ford Maverick will make its debut virtually on June 8. Ford has enlisted the help of actress Gabrielle Union who will show off the all-new truck on her own Instagram and TikTok channels, on Ford’s social channels as well as on Hulu. The Maverick will make history as Ford’s first vehicle to debut on its new U.S. TikTok channel.

The bottom line on the 2022 Ford Maverick

The photos above and video below have us excited! Just look at that beautiful stamped nameplate on the tailgate and the color-matching sideview mirrors. And while I don’t know just how big Gabrielle Union’s garage is, the Maverick is looking like it has plenty of space in there, which is good news for those who want a truck that fits in their city garage.

Don’t forget to set your calendar to remind you to get a closer look at Ford.com on June 8, and let us know in the comments what you think this compact truck will be like.

I’m really curious to find out how well this sells once the hype dies down and it’s just another truck on the road.
