2022 GMC Sierra Interior

A sneak peek at the 2022 GMC Sierra interior. (Photo by KGP Photography)

It’s always fun to get a peek at what’s changing on a truck, and after all the criticism for GM truck interiors the past few years it’s especially exciting to see some major updates coming to the 2022 GMC Sierra.

2022 GMC Sierra spy photos leaked

Our spy photographer believes this to be a 2022 GMC Sierra Denali prototype. However, we don’t have a release date for this truck, and with all the semiconductor shortages it could actually be a 2023 model. But we’ll cross our fingers we see this new truck in the next couple of months.

A new instrument cluster for the truck has been teased for a while, and from the photograph, we can see a completely overhauled center stack. Just look at that ultra-wide infotainment screen. We zoom in a little in the video, and you’ll see what appears to be a search bar, which could mean this new system will have the same Android Auto OS the Hummer EV has.

Above screen air vents, physical knobs for volume and climate controls and a nice row of piano-black buttons complete the center stack.

No more column shifter?

GM trucks have featured column shifters for years, so it’s interesting to see this truck has a center console shifter. It will be interesting to see what this means for center console space.

We’re just glad it doesn’t have the little gear-shift buttons on the dash like the all-new 2021 Yukon.

SuperCruise, yes or no?

From what we can see here, this prototype vehicle doesn’t have SuperCruise. It’s been teased for the Sierra this year, though, and we’re hopeful it will be an option for the Denali.

What do you think?

Does this look like a different interior from the new interior we’ve seen for the Silverado? And what do you think the 2022 GMC Sierra interior will resemble the most: the Tahoe or the Hummer EV?
