Bollinger B1 and B2 Vehicle Pricing Announced – Shocking?

Share

Bollinger Motors has announced the pricing for their new electric B1 and B2 vehicles. The pickup and SUV will each set you back $125,000 and you can place a deposit now with just $1,000 down.

The Detroit-based EV maker has been working through all the development on bringing their vehicles to market including production, distribution and now pricing. This wowza pricing is well above the $100k mark it previously said it was aiming for.

These dual-electric motor vehicles will produce an astonishing 614 HP, 668 lbs feet of torque and go 0-60 in 4.5 seconds albeit only getting 200 miles of range out of the massive 120kWh battery pack. That is quite the trade off for some spirited driving.

Both the B1 SUV and B2 truck are built with utility in mind and have a ground clearance of 15″. They also have 5″ of wheel travel, a 5,200 lbs of payload and a 7,500 lbs of towing capacity (how far they are able to tow remains a mystery).

They are both going to be in the 8,500 GVWR and above category which allows them to skirt safety testing. In fact, neither vehicle has air bags.

While Bollinger still needs a $100 million investment and to work out some supplier issues according to AutoNews.com, Bollinger says they will go on sale in 2021.

“We’re going to production with all of the components and features that our team developed from the start,” CEO and founder Robert Bollinger said in a statement. “We’re staying true to our DNA. Our trucks deliver a level of performance unlike anything on the market or coming to market.”
