Strange, no?

We can’t figure out how this even happened. For starters, why did they try to break into the pickup? And second why did it catch fire?

Digging through the comments, one person stated a drunk person put a brick on the pedal and then jumped out of the pickup causing the doors to auto lock. That is suspect at best.

Most newer pickups don’t auto lock after you leave the pickup and it is running. Unless the guy climbed out a window and fled, then maybe. But, wouldn’t that leave the window open for the two guys to just climb through themselves?

Also, is something for sale? The comment about “you still want $25 for that” is pretty odd.

Finally, we can’t figure out what caught fire. Maybe a fuel line ruptured or a mechanical issue caused the problem. Long shot, but it is the only logical explanation.

What do you think happened?

Tim, how long do you think that engine had to be running for that to happen? Too bad it’s destroyed, looked like a pretty nice truck.

Hard to say how long. My best guess is a fuel line got too hot and ruptured causing the flames.

I am not sure about this specific truck, but most newer cars and trucks auto lock when the door shuts. So if he hopped out, and shut the door while the vehicle was in drive, the doors would have locked.

    Diesel runaway?

I assume “twenty five” was referencing $25k.

Probably not long. Mine was parked and off. Did the same thing. 2021 GMC Sierra completely destroyed. GM not admitting any problems. We need to tell people these trucks are dangerous
