A new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 HD truck is coming out soon and GM has released a teaser image to fire up our interest. Slated for a debut soon, the new Silverado HD is yet another new truck coming out in the past few months for the Chevrolet brand.
The teaser image doesn’t show much beyond a single-pillar tow mirror and a broad Chevrolet name stretched across the grille. However, it isn’t a big leap of the imagination to think whatever the new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado has for looks and interior features will go into the new Silverado HD.
Officially, Chevrolet was mum on many details, but they did provide a few details on the timing and size of the truck.
“On-road testing of the new Silverado HD prototypes will begin in the near future to reach Chevrolet’s increased durability and validation standards, and the bolder, larger proportions of the truck will be instantly apparent,” according to a press release.
These new Silverado HD trucks will join two other new Chevy Silverado models in the 2019 half-ton and the new 4500, 5500 and 6500 medium-duty trucks Chevrolet unveiled at the 2018 Work Truck Show.
With these new models, and the rather new Duramax engine, it is clear Chevy is keen on growing its share of the North American pickup market. Each of these new trucks will likely offer increases in technology, safety features and design as well as innovative features not yet seen. With such a competitive marketplace, consumers will be the big winners here as manufactures chase innovations to attract new buyers.
We expect to see these trucks make their debut either early Fall at a unique unveiling event like GMC has done recently or at the 2018 L.A. Auto Show coming in November. Chevrolet could wait until the next 2019 Detroit Auto Show in January, however, that is a quite a bit of time away and seems rather unlikely to hold off a new truck until then.
