The performance team at Speciality Vehicle Engineering has released the details on their latest creation – a 800 HP Chevy Silverado. This throwback to the 1990s sports truck craze has so much power, you might need to torque down the engine mounts from time to time.
Getting that much performance is through a custom built 6.8L, 416 cu. in. supercharged LT-1 based engine. Yes, you read that correctly, they shoved a 6.8L into the engine bay of a Chevy Silverado. Pretty sure they needed some Crisco to slide it in.
The YENKO/SC truck will be based of a 2018 Chevy Silverado regular-cab, short-box truck and will be available in any factory color. This configuration uses the lightest weight allowing the most performance.
SC says they will build 25 of these trucks and besides the engine modifications, they will install “Brembo’s larger front brakes, that include 6 piston calipers and 16.1″ Duralife vented rotors, and our lowering package, that includes 2″ front lowering springs, and 5″ rear lowering hardware package.” Lowering the truck allows it to perform better with less air resistance and the upgraded brakes will provide the stopping power needed when you are flat out flying.
Plus, each truck will feature Rancho shocks, skid plates, hill descent control, automatic locking rear differential, 3.42 rear axle ratio and a new larger diameter (1-1/2″ custom front sway bar according to SC.
Finally, 20″ Torque Thrust wheels pay homage to older Yenko/SC trucks and there is a variety of Yenko badging throughout the truck.
Each of the trucks will have a numbered power badge, two numbered key fobs, a manufacture’s certificate of origin, and a 3 year year/36,000 mile limited warranty on engine and supercharger assembly, and non-powertrain components.
