A recall of 74,578 Dodge Durango vehicles for rear spoilers that may detach.
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Dodge Durango vehicles. The rear spoiler may not be aligned properly with the roof, possibly resulting in damage to the spoiler during liftgate use.

Descriptive Information
Some 2021-2023 Model Year Dodge Durango vehicles were built with rear spoilers that may be over-flush to the roof, allowing contact to the roof when cycling the liftgate.
The suspect period began on July 13, 2020, when 2021 MY production began, and ended on March 28, 2023, when vehicles were no longer built with a potential over-flush condition. Vehicle production and engineering change records were used to determine the suspect period.
Similar vehicles not included in this recall were built after the suspect period or were produced with a different design and production process.
Description of defect or noncompliance:
An over-flush rear spoiler may become damaged when cycling the liftgate which may result in the spoiler becoming detached from the vehicle.
Description of the safety risk, including crash, fire, death, injury:
Rear spoilers which detach from a vehicle may create road debris and increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
Description of the cause:
None stated.
Identification of any warning that can occur:
Vehicle occupants may hear the spoiler hitting the body when opening or closing the liftgate, or a rattle from the spoiler being loose while driving.
Chronology
On October 28, 2021, FCA US LLC (“FCA US”) filed NHTSA Recall ID 21V842 (“Y73”) for 2021 MY Dodge Durango for rear spoilers that may detach from the vehicle. The population of Y73 was determined based on Engineering change and vehicle production records available at the time of recall decision.
On February 23, 2023, FCA US filed NHTSA Recall ID 23V115 (“20A”) for 2021-2023 MY Dodge Durango for rear spoilers that may detach from the vehicle. The population of 20A was determined based on engineering change and vehicle production records available at the time of recall decision.
On March 19, 2026, the FCA US Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance (“TSRC”) organization opened an investigation due to field data indicating potential rear spoiler detachments after Y73 or 20A recall remedies were completed.
From March 19, 2026, through June 02, 2026, FCA US TSRC reviewed field data and met with Engineering to understand the part design and change history.
As of July 29, 2026, FCA US is aware of 8 customer assistance records, 116 warranty claims, and 37 other service records potentially relating to this issue for all markets with dates of receipt ranging from May 10, 2022 to June 30, 2026.
As of July 29, 2026, FCA US is not aware of any accidents or injuries potentially related to this issue for all markets.
On August 06, 2026, FCA US determined, through the Vehicle Regulations Committee, that a safety defect exists in certain vehicles.
