The 2027 Dodge Durango retains its three-engine Hemi V8 lineup while adding custom paint, tinted stripes and several new appearance options.

Dodge displayed the updated SUV at Roadkill Nights 2026 alongside the latest Dodge Charger. Although there are no announced powertrain changes, buyers will have more ways to personalize the Durango, including an expanded Color Jailbreak program expected to cost considerably less than the previous $30,000 custom-paint option.

“Dodge owners have never been shy about standing out, and Roadkill Nights gives us the perfect place to announce an all-new custom paint program right from the factory,” said Matt McAlear, Dodge CEO. “Nothing cements the authenticity of a 1:1 car like a special paint, and we want to make that more affordable than ever. Whether it’s a favorite body color or you are looking to push the limits to the edge with unique calipers, stripes, spoiler color or even two-tone, we’ve got you in mind.”

Here is what is changing for the 2027 Dodge Durango, along with its available engines, trim levels and prices.

Dodge Color Jailbreak for the Masses

Over the past decade or so, Dodge has offered a handful of vehicles with a custom exterior color program. It started with the Viper GTC back in 2015, followed by the Challenger SRT Demon 170 and the Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak in more recent years. While the custom color option was part of a package for the Viper, getting a bespoke color on the Demon 170 or Durango SRT Hellcat was a $30,000 upcharge. The average person generally will not add the cost of an economy car for a unique paint color, but for the 2027 Dodge Durango, the Color Jailbreak program will have an “MSRP targeted at the masses rather than the select few.” We don’t know what that MSRP will be, but it will likely be well below $30k.

To showcase the 2027 Dodge Durango with the Color Jailbreak program, one of the supercharged three-row SUVs was on display at Roadkill Nights in Toxic Orange.

Tinted Dual Stripes, Brass Monkey Trim and Redeye Red

The next exterior upgrade option coming for the 2027 Dodge Durango is a set of tinted dual stripes, which will also be offered for the Charger. Unlike most stripe packages, which are either painted or matte or solid-color vinyl, these stripes feature a translucent finish that allows the exterior paint color to show through with a unique tinted effect. They almost create a “ghost stripe” look, with the dual stripes appearing to be a slightly different shade of the body color.

To show off the new tinted dual stripes, Dodge applied them to a 2027 Durango GT Hemi in Redeye Red that was on display at Roadkill Nights 2026. Redeye Red is also new to the palette for 2027.

That Redeye Red SUV is also fitted with the Brass Monkey package, which is new to the Dodge Durango GT Hemi, adding Brass Monkey-trimmed 345 badges and Brass Monkey wheels.

Dodge Durango R/T 392 Smokescreen Concept

Dodge says that the Durango R/T 392 Smokescreen Concept “transforms the brand’s three-row muscle SUV into a visual statement of power, energy and motion.” It is painted Smokescreen with a wild Cryo Blue pattern that is concentrated across the front end and spreads as it heads down the sides of the body. This concept also has Cryo Blue mirror caps, Cryo Blue wheels, tinted taillights and black exhaust tips. On the inside, the Petrol Blue Laguna leather performance seats with silver stitching are the most striking aspect of the package, tying the inside and outside together perfectly.

Right now, the Dodge Durango R/T 392 Smokescreen Concept is only a concept, but it was on display at Roadkill Nights so that the company could gauge consumer interest – so this concept could become a production reality in the near future. Dodge loves making appearance packages for their Hemi-powered vehicles, and this one would fit in nicely with past special edition models.

The 2027 Dodge Durango will be offered in three powertrain-based models, each offered in multiple configurations.

The “base” 2027 Durango is the GT Hemi, which is powered by the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque with the standard 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The GT Hemi starts at $43,675, while the GT Hemi Plus starts at $47,275 and the GT Hemi Premium starts at $50,275.

Next, the 2027 Dodge Durango R/T 392 is powered by the 6.4-liter Hemi, delivering 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, also with the 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The Durango R/T 392 starts at $50,995, the Durango R/T 392 Plus starts at $54,595 and the Durango R/T 392 Premium starts at $57,595.

Finally, the 2027 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat is powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi, sending 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels by means of an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system. The Hellcat model has a price starting at $80,495, with the optional Jailbreak package (this is not the Color Jailbreak mentioned above) starting at $995 and including the cost of whatever options are chosen.
