If you want a Ford Maverick and haven’t already placed your order, you may have missed your window. Again. According to a letter sent to dealers and posted to the Maverick Truck Club forum, retail orders for the 2023 Maverick will close either today or tomorrow depending on whether you want the hybrid or gas model.
This means the order books are closing just five days after they re-opened to the public.
If you would like to place a specific order for a 2023 Maverick – you know where you choose the options and paint color yourself – the clock is ticking. The memo states the following key days:
This doesn’t mean you’re completely SOL if you want a 2023 Maverick, it just means you might not get the exact truck you want. Dealers can continue to submit orders for dealer stock inventory, and customers can purchase those trucks when they get to the dealer.
But there’s no guarantee in any of that.
Because this was an all-new truck for the 2022 model year, there aren’t huge sweeping changes. But biggie for 2023 is the addition of the Tremor package. It’ll be built off the FX4 Off-Road package and gets a 1-inch lift, Trail Control, cool Tremor badging and advanced all-wheel drive – among other things.
Ford hasn’t officially announced pricing for the 2023 model – nor is it available on the consumer configurator – but Ford Authority reports the base price increases by $1,200, and the new starting price of the 2023 Maverick XL is $22,195. The Lariat tops out at $27,955, which is a $1,095 increase.
If you want the 2023 Ford Maverick, speak now or forever hold your peace. We’ve reached out to Ford Motor Co. to verify this dealer memo is correct and to see when the order books might re-open, but we haven’t heard back at the time of posting this article. So, assume you’re now looking at the 2024 model year, and you likely won’t be able to order it until this time next year.
And, um, maybe mark your calendar for the beginning of September to be on Maverick watch.
