There is some big stuff going on down at the Texas State Fair as Ram unveils three new Ram 1500 limited-edition models that will go on sale as part of the 2022 model year.
The three exclusive models are: Ram 1500 TRX Ignition Edition, Ram 1500 Longhorn SouthFork and Ram 1500 (RED) Edition.
The Ram Truck display at the State Fair of Texas features a full lineup of Ram trucks, and runs from September 24 through October 17 at Fair Park in Dallas. It almost makes us want to hop a flight to Austin to see these new models.
We’ve covered the Ram TRX a lot — and for good reason. Ram adds to the TRX with this limited-edition Ignition trim, which will only have 875 units available.
Ram says the 1500 TRX Ignition models are available with the Level 2 Equipment Group and includes a unique Ignition exterior color and graphics, 18-inch machine face black wheels, panoramic sunroof, spray-in bedliner, cargo tie-downs, bed step and an LED cab-mounted brake light.
The special details continue inside with Copperhead Orange stitching along with an embroidered TRX logo on the seat back. Plus the Ignition Edition will have carbon fiber accents, an orange center console badge and Ignition Orange TRX logo on the driver’s screen. Plus, look for the Ram head logo emblazoned on the slush mats.
The 2022 Ram 1500 TRX Ignition Edition will (of course) have the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8 engine.
Ram says the price for the 1500 TRX Ignition Edition starts at $91,585, plus $1,695 destination, and will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2021 as a 2022 model year.
This special edition Ram 1500 replaces the Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary in the lineup. The Longhorn SouthFork will have a multi-function tailgate, deployable bed step, spray-in bedliner, metal pedal kit and Falken Wildpeak All-Terrain tires.
Special touches continue inside with distinctive, and SouthFork exclusive color. Ram calls it Mountain Brown and it can be found on the standard bucket seats and suede door bolsters with leather insert and a laser filigree detail.
Ram did not identify how many SouthFork editions will be sold, nor put a number on it. But, the price starts at $61,620, plus $1,695 destination. The 2022 Ram 1500 Longhorn SouthFork models go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2021.
As part of a philanthropic initiative to combat health emergencies, Jeep, Ram and Fiat have committed a minimum of $4M to the Global Fund through a partnership with (RED), and for 2022, Ram created a special edition Ram 1500 with the (RED) badging. A portion of the sale of each Ram (RED) vehicle will be donated to the fund.
The 2022 Ram 1500 (RED) Edition is available on Limited Crew Cab configurations, in a choice of both V-8 engines or EcoDiesel and features red R-A-M grille and door badging. A special (RED) badge is also on the center console lid.
Ram 1500 (RED) has an MSRP that starts at $63,250, plus $1,695 destination, and will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Special edition trucks are great for the enthusiasts. They present a special way for passionate owners to get something rarely seen, and showcase their personality a little bit. Our pick: We’re excited to see SouthFork edition.
Then again, the Ignition Edition looks gorgeous and that (RED) Ram logo is pretty cool. OK, we like the all. What do you think? Which is your favorite?
