2020 Kia Telluride Wins Rocky Mountain Automotive Press Association SUV/CUV Of The Year Award

Share

The Kia Telluride has been riding a gigantic wave of momentum since it was unleashed onto the world last year. The big Kia was designed to give the Korean car company a true full-size entry while also righting every single wrong that was ever committed by the ill fated Borrego. The Telluride has racked up a number of victories and awards since then, with the Telluride recently winning the 2020 Rocky Mountain Automotive Press Association SUV/CUV of The Year Award.

Awarded annually by members of the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press Association, the voting members used four categories (performance, value, fuel economies, and performance) to help narrow down the list of SUV contenders to four finalists. The Telluride emerged victorious, but it faced a formidable field of contenders. This included the plucky underdog the 2020 Fiat 500X Trekking, the 2020 Subaru Outback, and last but not least the Kia’s platform mate the 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The Telluride managed to stand out from this stacked field by excelling in some of the performance tests that the organization threw at it. This included demanding treks down the rugged sections of terrain and off-road trails that dot the rocky mountains region.

Like the 2020 Jeep Gladiator (which won truck of the year honors) a special banner will be unfurled for the Telluride in Kia’s exhibit during the 2020 Denver Auto Show, which is scheduled to take place later this year.
