Hennessey Plans VelociRaptor 6x6 Reveal at 2017 SEMA ShowNext week begins the 2017 Speciality Equipment Manufactures Association (SEMA) show known for crazy vehicles, lifted trucks and fast sports cars. This year is off to a quick start with Hennessey Performance announcing they will bring their newest creation to the show – a VelociRaptor 6×6.

Making its debut at Las Vegas Convention Center in the Shell “Pioneering Performance” Experience (#60005) booth, John Hennessey will once again showcase his automotive vision and how too much horsepower is never enough.

“Our VelociRaptor 6X6 is pure aggression on wheels – all six of them,” said Hennessey. “The new 2017 Raptor is going to be one of the best all-around trucks ever built. We are excited to help take it to the next level both in terms of performance and exclusivity.”

Hennessey is known for modifying all sorts of vehicles and building some pretty crazy ones. He also follows through on his designs. We told you about the VelociRaptor back in October of 2016 and now it is going to be shown to the public.

To recap, the VelociRaptor starts with a 6×6 setup and includes “locking rear axles, upgraded Baja-spec Fox suspension, new 20-inch wheels, large off-road tires rubber, beefy get-the-hell-out-of-my-way front and rear bumpers, a new rollbar and blinding LED light” according to Topgear.com.

Carrying all of this gear is the Mercedes’ six-wheeled G63 suspension complete with twin suspension for each wheel assembly, portal axles and a slew of differential locks.

While we won’t be at the show this year, we fully expect to see this monster at another show.

If this wasn’t enough, you can upgrade the VelociRaptor to produce more than 600 HP out of the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost. This upgrade boost comes with upgraded turbochargers, exhaust system mods, uprated cooling and a retuned ECU computer.

For those who the HP boost without the extra set of tires, Hennessey plans to sell the twin-turbo upgrade package for $22,500.

All of this comes with the low price of $295,000 which, incredibly, is actually less than the G63 AMG 6×6’s starting MSRP of $430,000.

But, wait. There’s more! Additional optional extras can be added to the VelociRaptor 6×6 with Brembo front and rear brakes, even larger wheels and tires, unique interior treatments, brighter LED lights and an armor system for those long treks through enemy territory.

Hennessey Performance says they plan to have the VelociRaptor soon after the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor goes on sale. Taking the already iconic off-road truck to another level is sure to attract wealthy consumers as well as be the dream truck for a whole generation of truck enthusiasts. I only wonder how much a poster will cost.
