Ram Rebel Goes to The Dark Side With Black Edition

A black exterior, a black interior with black accents. Yep, it is all black.

Following up on a very successful launch in 2015, the Ram Rebel will show off a new special Rebel Black edition next week at the 2017 North American International Auto Show. It is black, on top of black and finished off with black accents. Darth Vader would be proud of this truck.

The Ram Rebel has been a great addition to Ram’s lineup of trucks. It takes the stock Ram 1500 and really adds bold styling along with off-road equipment. While certainly not a Ford Raptor competitor, it is the smart money alternative to it. With a factory lift, 33-inch all-terrain tires, Bilstein shocks and unique design elements among other things, it looks and drives the part of an everyday off-road truck for about $5k less than the starting MSRP of a Raptor.

This new edition was really just a matter of time for the Ram Rebel. Today’s latest craze is a blacked out look among younger truck owners who love to de-badge vehicles and black out all the design accents (much to the chagrin of designers). The blacked out look really adds some visual appeal to certain trucks when done right and this Rebel Black edition is done right. It is also a smart move for the Ram brand.

“Adding the Rebel Black package to an already aggressive off-road truck will continue feeding the momentum Rebel is creating for the Ram Truck brand,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand and Ram Brand, FCA – Global said in a press release. “The Ram Rebel is unique in the full-size truck segment with 33-inch off-road tires, air suspension and custom interior details.”

While the exterior changes are easy to see, the inside of the Black Rebel has been changed with all-black heated seats with black “rebel” embroidery along with Light Slate Gray accent stitching tracing the instrument panel, center console lid, doors and seats. There is an optional Black leather Katskin seats available as well for a bit more luxury feel.
