The 2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee officially went on sale yesterday and within the lineup is a new model, based on the Laredo and designed cater to those who want to do some light off-roading in comfort, but without a big price tag. The new Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Upland is fitted with some off-road-ready components on the outside and some luxury-level features on the inside, all with a price starting under $50,000.
2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Model Lineup

The 2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee will eventually be offered in ten trim levels, but right now, eight of those are available for order at your local dealership. The entry-level model is the Laredo, followed by Laredo X, Laredo Altitude, Laredo Upland, Limited, Limited Altitude, Limited Reserve and Summit. Of course, the new addition to the 2027 lineup is the Laredo Upland, which brings some of the features from the Trailhawk and Overland to a more budget-friendly package.
The Trailhawk and Overland models, neither of which were included in the lineup for 2026, will join the lineup at a later date during the 2027 model year.
Grand Cherokee Laredo Upland Features

The key components of the Upload model that differentiate it from the other Laredo models start on the outside with 18-inch “Trailhawk-inspired” wheels wrapped in 265/60R18 all-terrain tires. The package also adds a “Trailhawk-inspired” front fascia with Vapor Gray tow hooks, a body-color-painted roof and dark gray exterior accents – all of which obviously reinforces the off-road-readiness of the new Laredo Upland.
On the luxury side, the new Laredo Upland features Capri leatherette and suede seats finished in Global Black, giving the cabin a more premium look and feel.
2027 Engine Lineup

The 2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee is offered with two engines – the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and the 2.0-liter Hurricane turbocharged four-cylinder (shown above). The V6 is standard in the Laredo and Laredo X, but the turbocharged-four is standard in all other models, including the Laredo Upland on which this piece focuses. The turbocharged Hurricane four-cylinder delivers 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful non-V8 to be offered in the brand’s bestselling SUV.
All of these models come equipped with the 8-speed automatic transmission.
It should be noted that the 4xe hybrid drivetrain is not currently available for the 2027 model year. That was the standard engine in the previous Trailhawk, but for 2027, that top-of-the-line off-road model will get the Hurricane 2.0-liter mill.
2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Pricing

The press release introducing the 2027 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Upland does not include full model range pricing, but it includes some key numbers.
Pricing for the 2027 model year starts with the Laredo rear-wheel-drive models at $41,515 (all prices here include destination). The new Laredo Upland starts at $49,990 and four-wheel-drive is standard, as it is with the Trailhawk, which starts at $54,995 and the Overland, which starts at $57,895. In other words, the Upland model is a bit more off-road-ready and a bit more comfortable inside than the Laredo, but it is dramatically less costly than the Trailhawk and Overland models which will go on sale later in the 2027 model year.
