The Ram Trucks brand recently dropped the full details on the 2027 ProMaster City and with a price starting under $40k with destination, this roomy little work horse is the most affordable vehicle in its class. It also offers loads of interior space, with seating options for up for eight people, but it is small enough to fit in most parking garages – something that most cargo vans cannot do.

2027 Ram ProMaster City Configuration Options
The 2027 Ram ProMaster City is available in either Tradesmam or SLT trim and as either a cargo van or passenger van. ProMaster City passenger models can be outfitted to acccomodate five or eight people. There are also a wide variety of window/panel layouts, as listed below, and other than the vans with full security panels, all other models can be equipped with a segment-exclusive rear liftgate instead of the two swinging doors.

2027 Ram Promaster City Pricing
The 2027 Ram Promaster City starts at $39,995 for the Tradesman Cargo, including the $2,595 destination fee (all prices mentioned here include destination), making it the most affordable vehicle in the segment. If you want more standard content in your cargo van, you can step up to the ProMaster City SLT Cargo for $41,495. If you want to add seats to your 2027 ProMaster Tradesman, the price starts at $42,695 and for the more heavily-appointed ProMaster City SLT Passenger Wagon, the price starts at $44,195.
2027 ProMaster City production will start in 2026, with vehicles arriving at dealers in the first quarter of 2027.
Drivetrain and Capabilities
All 2027 Ram ProMaster City models are powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 166 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. That power is sent towards the front wheels by means of an 8-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of interior space, the 2027 Ram ProMaster City offers 167 cubic feet of interior cargo capacity, while standing only 80 inches tall on the outside. That relatively low height makes it the only Class 2 commercial van that is capable of fitting in urban parking garages. On the inside, the new Promaster City offers 54 inches of cargo height, a 111-inch load floor area and “more than 48 inches” between the wheel wells, so it will comfortably hold construction materials. It has a payload capacity of 2,000 pounds, so owners can get quite a bit of weight to and from the job site. The ProMaster City can also tow 2,000 pounds, so the tools or materials that won’t fit inside of this compact workhorse will fit on a small trailer out back.
Key Tradesman and SLT Features
All 2027 Ram ProMaster City Trademsn and SLT models come with a long list of features that were once considered premium luxury items, such as the 5-inch digital rearview mirror, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tilt-and-telescoping steering column, audio controls on the steering wheel, one-touch express up/down windows, and heated front seats.
Those buyers who upgrade to the ProMaster City SLT will also enjoy more comfort inside and a sharper look on the outside. The SLT trim level adds front parking sensors, a wireless phone charger, a heated steering wheel, body-colored bumpers, fog lights and 17-inch aluminum wheel.
Also, in addition to the spread of window/panel configurations, ProMaster City buyers can also added a partition wall in the five-passenger models, keeping cargo and people separate, or they can go with the third row of seats, leading to room for eight.
Premium Safety Technology Comes Standard
Like many modern vehicles, the 2027 Ram ProMaster City comes packed full of high tech safety gadgets. The digital rearview mirror that we mentioned above is joined by forward collision warning (FCW) with automatic emergency braking (AEB), automatic headlamps with LED daytime running lamps and automatic high beams, the Driver Attention Alert system, an exterior temperature alert with ice warning, the Hill-start Assist system, the ParkView rear backup camera with ParkSense rear parking sensors and a programmable speed limiter. Also, passenger models come with second- and third-row side-curtain airbags.
