Talkin’ Trucks: American-Made Index, used pickup truck prices

In this episode, Publisher Tim Esterdahl and Managing Editor Jill Ciminillo kick off the show discussing the Cars.com American-Made Index (AMI), zeroing in on the truck segment. Curiously the top two trucks are from Asian automakers, and the Detroit Three automakers, which you’d think would top the list, cluster at the bottom. It’s an interesting discussion to be had just before America’s most-American holiday.

Following the American-Made Index discussion, Esterdahl and Ciminillo dive into used truck prices. In a time when overall used car prices are coming down, the truck segment continues to remain high and, in fact, has hit a 12-month high.

In addition to answering a lot of user questions posed during the livestream, the duo spent some time discussing the past three trucks Esterdahl has owned, and which one they liked the best. Surprise: Esterdahl and Ciminillo don’t agree.

Esterdahl and Ciminillo try to do weekly livestreams on YouTube, which are projected out to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. In 2023, they are switching to a Monday/Tuesday schedule at 8 p.m. EST, so be sure to subscribe to the YouTube channel and follow them on social media for the upcoming live episode timing and topics.
