2025 Ram 1500 spied with a facelift for front and rear plus interior

Share

The 2025 Ram 1500 has been spied driving around for the first time with camouflage indicating changes are coming for the full-size truck.

After blowing the doors off the competition when the 5th generation debuted at the North American International Auto show in January, 2018, there have been minor changes with trim packages and new exterior colors.

That’s about to change with an expected facelift of the 5th generation due to come out either later this year or early next year.

2025 Ram 1500 spy photos

We got an email from our spy photographer detailing the changes he could see on the new truck.

Here is what he had to say:

We just got our first visual proof that the Ram 1500 is going under the knife for a facelift.
The prototype truck caught here is running with heavily camouflaged front- and rear-fascias.  There are signs of new headlights peeking through the camouflage, while the expected redesign to the grille is hidden behind two layers of disguise.  The rear-end is equally disguised, with covered tail-lights, and a heavily shrouded tailgate.  The interior is also heavily camouflaged, as revealed in our photos.
With the release of official images of the battery-electric Ram 1500 REV, the EV pickup gets revised front-and rear-fascias while leaving the overall cab untouched.  The REV’s interior is spruced up, but again uses much of the Ram 1500’s already class-leading interior.  It’s clear that the Ram REV will get unique styling, but it’s possible that the EV’s design may influence the direction of the restyling applied to the ICE Ram trucks.  Whether the interior of the updated Ram 1500 will see an meaningful overhaul is still an open question at this early stage.
A Ram teaser led many to believe that the refreshed Ram might be unveiled, but the PR exercise was only to announce the new Lunar Edition models destined for the Rebel and TRX.  The prototype caught here is not related to the Lunar Editions, and represents something much more meaningful, a long-awaited update to the Ram 1500 lineup to counter the updated Silverado and Sierra 1500s, and the Ford F-150, which will see not one, but two facelifts since today’s Ram 1500 first hit the market.

The bottom line

These spy photos confirm a new Ram 1500 is coming and while this looks like to be a traditional mid-cycle refresh, it is good to finally see some changes for the truck. The competition has gotten stiffer since the Ram came out with everyone either playing catch up or matching the Ram 1500 in terms of interior styling and features. It will be exciting to see if Ram raises the bar again.
