After a few months of using the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500, and the stock carpeted floor mats had to go! Fortunately, I got a set of Proven Ground front and rear floor liners, and they have made a big difference.

The Proven Ground floor liners were sent to us from AmericanTrucks.com and came with two front liners for the driver and passenger side along with a one-piece rear liner.

What are Proven Ground floor liners?

According to the website, Proven Ground liners are injection molded from an Original Equipment Manufacturer quality thermoplastic and use the Chevrolet supplied sizing data to ensure they fit perfectly in the truck.

This thermoplastic material feels like a heavier and more rugged type of rubber molding and are somewhat pliable. They slide over top the carpet and clip into the existing prongs — at least on the driver’s side. The passenger and rear of the Silverado 1500 don’t have prongs for the floor mats to snap into place.

The liners have a raised pattern on their backside which helps hold them into place as well.

Any good?

After a week of using them, the Proven Ground floor liners are pretty darn good, and the $159.99 price for all three pieces is cheaper than the competition, especially the Chevrolet accessory ones, with similar quality to them.

This week included snow, rain and walking on mud. The floor liners handled these conditions very well, keeping the mud on the liner and not sliding around the floor.

Plus, they are easy to clean with a simple bucket of water or a hose. The dirt and debris slides off the liners, and they dry quickly in the sun.

Finally, the design of the floor mats includes an overlap over the door sill keeping debris from getting under the floor mat. However, it covers up the door sill to a degree. For example, I can’t always see the High Country name on the door sill. Not a deal breaker for me, but something to keep in mind.

The bottom line

How do they measure up to Weathertech or floor liners from the automaker? The Proven Ground floor liners seem to be pretty comparable and are slightly cheaper than the others. That’s a win, win.

Editor’s note: AmericanTrucks.com provided us the floor mats to review at no cost to us.

Thanks for this. I have had weather tech and they don’t clean up very easy from my experience so replaced one set with Husky’s…. a little more time will tell on those
