In this Friday livestream, Publisher Tim Esterdahl and Managing Editor Jill Ciminillo do a quick recap of the LA Auto Show as well as discuss some news items that came up throughout the week. Oh, and there’s that one point in the middle where they have a lively discussion (read: argument) about, well, you just need to watch to find out.
In terms of of the LA Auto Show recap, Ciminillo discusses the reveal of the Toyota bZ Compact SUV Concept as well as some of the other new vehicles revealed at the show. She also teases a video she shot on site about the best third-row seats in mid-size SUVs.
One of the news items discussed concerns a stop sale and recall of the new GMC Hummer EV. Apparently there are concerns over the high-voltage battery enclosure being improperly sealed. While owners who have taken deliver of their vehicle can drive it, there are those who’ve paid for the vehicle that can’t take delivery until this issue is resolved. And there is no resolution in sight.
Finally, Esterdahl and Ciminillo return to the hydrogen discussion, as Toyota is going to start producing a hydrogen fuel cell kit for semi trucks in 2023.
