Harkening back to 1966, Ford Motor Co.’s off-road ready SUV goes retro. The 2023 Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport Heritage and Heritage Limited versions have unique colors, wheels and unique styling cues. For the Heritage Limited editions, Ford says it will only build 1,966 units of each for the Bronco and Bronco Sport.

2023 Ford Bronco Heritage

Kicking off this list is the 2023 Ford Bronco Heritage edition.

This version, available in both 2-door and 4-door, features a two-tone paint job including a “signature Oxford White” accents including the modular hardtop roof. The unique grille uses the same Oxford White color with Race Red “FORD” lettering.

There are also squared fenders with Sasquatch-width fender flares to give it more of a 1960s-era feel. Plus, the powder-coated steel capable front bumper with built-in recovery points and integrated fog lamps is standard.  Capable is the marketing term for the bumper which is one of three offered on the Bronco (Base, Heavy-Duty Modular, Capable).

The 17-inch aluminum heritage wheels also are done up in Oxford White and a bodyside stripe really adds to the Heritage feel.

Inside, the plaid cloth seats are a nod to the throwback styling while the Oxford White color is used again on the instrument panel and center console badging. There are also exclusive front and rear floor liners.

2023 Ford Bronco Sport Heritage Edition

Like its bigger brother, the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Heritage Edition copies a lot of the similar styling cues.

Starting on the exterior, it uses the signature Oxford White accents including the painted roof. The same heritage grille in white with the Race Red “BRONCO” lettering is part of the special edition as are the same white aluminum heritage wheels and bodyside stripes.

Inside, plaid cloth seats and a Navy Pier instrument panel with Oxford White accenting the bin and door ring really add to the throwback style. 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Heritage Limited Edition

Once again copying the full-size Bronco, the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Heritage Limited edition copies much of what we covered above.

It features the same metal “Bronco” script front fender badging. Also, there are larger 29-inch all terrain off-road tires with deeper treads stretching to the sidewalls for improved off-road traction.

Also, there are leather-trimmed seats and Oxford White door inserts and unique center console badging.

It comes with the Badlands trim and the more powerful 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.

Finally, it comes exclusively with the Robin’s Egg Blue, Yellowstone Metallic or Peak Blue colors.

The bottom line

The throwback styling is great and should be a head turner on the roads. That is IF you can get one with current reservation holders getting first dibs and the limited availability for the Heritage Limited editions.
