The 2023 Lexus RX is here, and Publisher Tim Esterdahl was among the first to drive it at a recent launch event. He can’t tell you what he thinks just yet, but he put together a list of the top five key things that changed with this 2023 model update. Watch this quick video to see what exterior and interior features will be substantially different when the 2023 Lexus RX 350, 350h and 500h hit showrooms.
You’ll notice in this video that the F Sport trim has a color-matched grille fading into the black honeycomb grill. It’s quite sleek and helps to soften that big in-your-face grille a lot of Lexus SUVs have.
While the overall length of the vehicle remains very close to the same as the 2022 RX, this new RX does have a longer wheelbase for better handling.
Yes, there are a lot of people whining about this, but a vehicle this size really doesn’t need a V-6, especially when you can get a turbocharged 4-cylinder paired with a hybrid engine for all the extra torque your heart desires. The 2023 Lexus RX will come with a total of 4 powertrain options, including a plugin-hyrbid to come a little later.
Touch screen that is. Goodbye, silly trackpad on the center console. This new multimedia screen is a thing of beauty, and it comes standard on premium plus models and above. You’ll find a 9-inch screen in the lower trims.
This is designed to grant you a more solid driving experience, which includes better braking. More to come on that when Esterdahl can share his driving impressions!
If you’ve owned or driven an RX in the past, you know the liftgate is slow as molasses in January. In North Dakota. This new 2023 RX is going to seem like lightning in comparison, and owners are going to love it.
Esterdahl can’t say just a whole lot yet. Driving impressions are embargoed for a few more days. But I’m already drooling over that bright blue paint job, thrilled with the smaller grille and excited to get behind the wheel myself!
Check out Esterdahl’s video, and let us know what you think of the new 2023 Lexus RX.
