2024-2025 Toyota Tacoma Recall: 48K Shock Absorber Corrosion Issue

A recall of approximately 48,000 Toyota Tacoma trucks for shock absorber oil reservoirs that may detach due to corrosion.

Toyota is conducting a voluntary safety recall of certain Model Year 2024-2025 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad trucks. Corrosion can accumulate over time and cause the shock absorber oil reservoir on affected vehicles to detach. If the reservoir detaches while driving it can create a road hazard and increase the risk of accident or injury.

Remedy Type: Inspect, Replace

Description of remedy program:

Toyota will notify owners of affected vehicles to return to a Toyota dealer. Front and rear shock absorber assemblies of affected vehicles will be inspected and replaced with improved assemblies.

How remedy component differs from recalled component:

Replacements will be of an improved design.

Description of recall schedule:

Toyota will notify customers by early October 2026.
