Jaguar Land Rover is conducting a voluntary safety recall campaign involving certain 2022-2026MY Land Rover Range Rover vehicles built at the Solihull Vehicle Assembly Plant from July 08, 2021 to June 04, 2026. 93,997 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles in the United States and Federalized Territories. The basis of the recall population of vehicles was determined by inspection of warranty claims and field report data.

This water ingress can cause a distorted image, or no image at all, to be displayed on the touchscreen.

Description of the safety risk, including crash, fire, death, injury:

A blurred image or lack of display of the rearview camera image may result in the driver being unaware of objects or pedestrians, increasing the risk of an injury or a crash.

Chronology

On 31 July 2026 a Product Safety and Compliance Committee (PSCC) investigation was opened to investigate anomalous rear camera replacement rates on Range Rover vehicles. Analysis of warranty claims globally had identified an unexplained elevated camera replacement rate in US & Canada compared to other markets and PSCC directed a dedicated engineering team to investigate this anomaly and report findings into the forum. The team was tasked with manually reviewing the claim details and evidence to understand the reasons for replacements.

On 08 August 2026, noting the recent recall D145 affecting rearview cameras on Discovery vehicles, JLR’s PSCC Decision Forum reviewed the matter and technical content of the investigation to date and requested that further field evidence be gathered to understand whether the replacements represented genuine camera failures.

Throughout August and into September 2026, the manual review of all claims continued whilst removed parts were captured in the US and shipped to the supplier for analysis, and on 18 September 2026 PSCC was informed that a process had now been implemented to ensure that evidence was provided prior to approval of camera replacements resulting in an apparent significant decrease in claim rate.

On 06 October 2026, the PSCC was informed that whilst the market-by-market discrepancy could not be fully explained, the supplier analysis of the first batch of returned rearview cameras had been completed and showed the majority of the analysed parts had failed due to water ingress.

On 08 October 2026, the matter was referred to PSCC Decision Forum which instructed a recall be launched to remedy the affected vehicles in US & Canada where the field evidence showed an elevated rate of failure.

JLR has received 2,295 claims and field reports in the US involving camera replacement between 03 August 2022 and 28 September 2026.

There have been no reported accidents, injuries or fires in the US as a result of this concern.
