Klassen is typically a tuning company that is widely known for its distinct taste for converting Mercedes-Benz and Maybach vehicles into rolling palaces. But we like it when tuning companies step outside of their comfort zones, and Klassen has done it again with this stately themed Range Rover limousine conversion.
This is not the first time Klassen has waded into waters owned by other brands, with the tuning firm boasting prior works involving Bentley, Rolls Royce, Lexus, and even a few older Land Rover based custom vehicles. However, this is the first time in awhile that Klassen has worked its magic on a Land Rover, especially as an all out limousine conversion. The donor vehicle here is a Range Rover Autobiography, but Klassen engineers have added 40 inches of extra length to the British luxury SUV, while the wheelbase has also been lengthened by 163 inches. The end result is a revised final length of 245 inches, which allows the stretched Range Rover to accommodate four seats. These seats can be configured so that they are facing each other. However, if leg room is a must, Klassen can make the passenger area a two seat affair, with cavernous amounts of leg room, as well as a rear facing digital screen for maximum entertainment when out on the move.
In addition to the impressive levels of space and luxury here, the Klassen Range Rover is also capable of keeping its occupants secure thanks to special level VR8 armored panels which can withstand 7.62 mm bullets from up to 10 meters away. These panels are combined with the accompanying bulletproof tires that were developed by Klassen themselves, which can support speeds of up to 50 mph, and can hold their air for up to 50 miles in the event that they are shot up by hostile assailants. The end result is a secure cocoon that can keep VIP level passengers safe in an emergency.
But the ability to survive surprise onslaughts in war zones while still catching up on your favorite movie with your friends in limo comfort does not come cheap, with fully optioned examples wielding a price tag of well over 750,000 euros ($811,000 with current exchange rates applied.) That’s a stately sum to pay for an SUV as outrageous as this one, but then again when it comes to protecting the valuable person inside, few can hold a candle to this beefy XXL limousine.
