## Chronology

On September 22, 2025, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”) sent FCA US LLC (“FCA US”) a pre-investigation inquiry regarding nine complaints made to the NHTSA for loss or partial loss of power steering assist.

On September 30, 2025, NHTSA sent FCA US one additional complaint made to the NHTSA regarding loss or partial loss of power steering assist.

On October 16, 2025, FCA US provided its response to the NHTSA.

On January 8, 2026, the FCA US Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance (“TSRC”) Product Investigation organization opened an internal investigation related to this issue.

On March 2, 2026, NHTSA’s Office of Defect Investigations opened Preliminary Evaluation PE26-002 into loss of power steering assist on 2022-2024 Model Year Ram ProMaster vehicles.

Between March 2026 and June 2026, FCA US TSRC organization investigated loss or partial loss of power steering assist occurring in the subject vehicles due to water causing corrosion in the connectors, and into the steering gear directly.

On June 9, 2026, NHTSA issued an Information Request related to PE26-002 and FCA US responded in full on July 24, 2026. FCA US identified during its investigation 437 customer assistance records, 2799 warranty claims and 191 field reports potentially relating to this issue for all markets with dates of receipt ranging from April 14, 2022 to June 9, 2026.

From July 2026 through August 2026, the FCA US TSRC organization continued its internal investigation into some 2022-2026 Model Year Ram ProMaster 1500, 2500, 3500 and 3500 EV vehicles and met with FCA US Engineering and Manufacturing to review vehicle production records and design changes to the EPS system to understand potential root cause, customer consequence and vehicle scope.

As of September 2, 2026, FCA US identified an additional 974 other reports potentially relating to this issue for all markets with dates of receipt ranging from April 12, 2022 to April 10, 2026.

FCA US is aware of one accident but no injuries potentially related to this issue for all markets.

On September 22, 2026, FCA US determined, through the Vehicle Regulations Committee, that a safety defect exists in certain vehicles.

## Remedy

**Description of recall schedule:**

FCA US will notify dealers on or about 10/06/2026 and begin notifying owners on or about 11/17/2026.
