Robert Harden and his son, Corey, operate TLAB’s Mobile Technology Lab, taking coding, esports and artificial intelligence lessons to schools, libraries and college campuses. Ford Pro recently shared the family’s story with Pickup Truck + SUV Talk. The truck is a Super Duty Lariat with the Ultimate package and a 7.3-liter gasoline V-8. According to the materials supplied by Ford Pro’s communications team, the mobile lab is a 40-foot, 12,500-pound, self-contained gooseneck trailer. Inside are 14 custom-built computers and AI servers. That is a substantial piece of equipment to take into school parking lots and through Atlanta traffic. The lab’s reported weight describes this operation, not a towing rating for every F-350. A truck’s allowable trailer weight depends on its configuration, including engine, axle ratio and equipment. Gooseneck pin weight also uses part of the truck’s payload allowance, along with passengers and other cargo. Ford Pro did not supply a configuration-specific payload label or weight ticket for the Hardens’ truck. We are therefore not assigning it a maximum payload or towing figure. Community events and birthday parties were part of the operation, alongside music production and computer science sessions. The Mobile Technology Lab followed in 2024. Robert’s background includes three decades in electronics and audiovisual work. Corey is TLAB’s lead game coach and technical director. Ford Pro says he built the lab’s workstations after developing his technology skills online. TLAB describes the mobile unit as a way to bring STEAM education and career training to underserved urban and rural communities in Georgia. That includes students from elementary school through college. The Hardens’ truck uses Ford’s 7.3-liter V-8, commonly called Godzilla, with a 10-speed automatic. For context, [Ford’s 2023 Super Duty towing guide]() rates that gasoline engine at 430 horsepower and 485 pound-feet of torque. Those are manufacturer engine specifications, not results from a test of this truck. Ford Pro’s account highlights the bed camera for gooseneck hookup, side and 360-degree camera views, extended towing mirrors, blind-spot monitoring and a trailer lighting check. These are useful details for a rig that has to do more than cruise down an open highway. Getting a long trailer into a school or library lot requires attention to space around the entire combination. Its examples include responsible AI prompting lessons for elementary students, a library event involving 100 families, Microsoft hackathons and esports broadcasts. That reach figure comes from the supplied account; it is not an independently audited attendance total. The truck’s role is straightforward: get the lab where it needs to be. Once it arrives, the computers and instruction become the focus. We have not tested the towing combination, and the supplied information does not establish that the F-350 provides electrical power for the classroom. For truck owners, this is an interesting example of what a heavy-duty pickup can make possible beyond the usual construction trailer or camper. The Hardens have built an operation around bringing equipment directly to people who may otherwise have limited access to it.
