GMC listed the hands-free driving system as optional on the 2026 Denali; the 2027 model includes it with a three-year OnStar One plan. The Yukon lineup starts at $72,695 including the $2,795 destination freight charge. For the standard-length Yukon, GMC’s advertised starting prices plus the $2,795 destination charge work out to $72,695 for Elevation, $80,395 for AT4, $85,895 for Denali, $100,995 for AT4 Ultimate and $107,595 for Denali Ultimate. Options, taxes, registration and dealer fees are additional, and the dealer sets the final price. The Yukon XL starts at $75,695 including destination. That puts its base price $3,000 above the shorter Yukon, a meaningful comparison for families deciding whether they need the longer body. Denali’s advertised base MSRP rises from $80,400 for 2026 to $83,100 for 2027, before destination. It permits hands-free driving on compatible roads under the system’s operating conditions; the driver still needs to pay attention and remain ready to take control. The 2027 Yukon also includes a Surround Vision Recorder. When enabled, it can save video from the surround-view cameras to a USB drive in two-hour loops while the vehicle is on. A separate Security Recording function records when the alarm has been triggered for 30 seconds. A 16.8-inch center touchscreen anchors the dashboard. Depending on trim and options, buyers can also get a head-up display, rear-seat entertainment screens, front-seat massage and upgraded second-row seating. Image: GMC. The 5.3-liter gasoline V8 produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The available 6.2-liter V8 raises those ratings to 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet. Both use Dynamic Fuel Management. The available 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel delivers 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque—the highest torque figure of the three engines. All three pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Engine availability depends on trim. GMC advertises a maximum towing capacity of 8,400 pounds when properly equipped. That is a lineup maximum, not the rating of every Yukon or Yukon XL. Image: GMC. The standard Yukon measures 210.1 inches long, while the XL stretches to 225.2 inches—a difference of 15.1 inches. GMC lists both at 76.5 inches tall. Seating can accommodate up to eight, depending on configuration, or seven with second-row captain’s chairs. Behind the third row, the Yukon provides 25.5 cubic feet of cargo space versus 41.5 cubic feet in the XL. That extra 16 cubic feet is the practical reason to choose the XL when carrying passengers and luggage together. With the third row folded, cargo volume rises to 72.5 cubic feet in the Yukon and 93.6 in the XL. Maximum space behind the front seats is 122.8 and 144.5 cubic feet, respectively. For buyers who use all three rows regularly, the XL’s added room may be more valuable than moving to a higher trim. For buyers focused on Denali, the standard Super Cruise change is the clearest reason to compare a 2027 model with remaining 2026 inventory.
