# Shopping a 2025 F-150 Lightning Flash? Check These Four Things

The 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning Flash combines a large battery, a feature-rich cabin and familiar full-size pickup utility. For a shopper looking at used trucks or remaining inventory, the useful question is what is actually included on the example for sale.

Jim Parrott of Off the Shelf Rides walks through a Rapid Red Flash in our video. His tour highlights several features worth seeking out, along with a few omissions that surprised him. Here are the four areas we would check before choosing one.

## Start with the battery and your charging plan

Jim’s review describes the Flash with a 123-kWh usable-capacity battery, dual motors, 536 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque. [Ford’s 2025 technical specifications](<https://www.fromtheroad.ford.com/content/dam/fordmediasite/us/en/library/2025/specs/2025-Ford-F-150-Lightning-Technical-Specifications.pdf>) list that configuration with a 300-mile EPA-estimated range. Check the original window sticker for the truck you are shopping rather than assuming all model years and builds share the same battery.

The range figure is a reference for comparison, not a towing-range result from this video. A daily commute and a trailer trip put different demands on an electric pickup. Work through your normal driving and where you can charge before deciding whether the Flash fits your routine.

The video also discusses access to Tesla charging. The important qualification is that an appropriate Ford-approved NACS fast-charging adapter provides access to [compatible, designated Tesla Superchargers](<https://www.ford.com/electric/public-ev-charging-near-me/>), not every Tesla charger. Confirm that the adapter is included with the vehicle and use the charging app to identify compatible stops. That is especially worth checking when buying used, when accessories may no longer be with the truck.

## Check the cabin features you will actually use

The Flash’s large portrait touchscreen is a central part of its appeal. Jim shows the 15.5-inch SYNC 4A display, the digital instrument cluster and the B&O audio system, which he likes. The 2025 truck also has heated front seats with ActiveX upholstery, giving this example a different feel from a basic cloth-seat pickup.

One omission stands out in the demonstration. The shifter folds down, but the reviewed truck does not have the folding interior work surface Jim expected to find over the console. If that is a feature you want for a laptop or paperwork, look for it on the actual truck rather than assuming the folding shifter guarantees it.

BlueCruise is another item to verify separately. The original review discusses an included plan, but an original trial or subscription is not the same as a fresh entitlement for the next owner. Check the vehicle’s current eligibility and plan status. Treat the hands-free system as a driver-assistance feature that still requires an attentive driver, and make sure it supports the roads where you intend to use it.

## The frunk may be more useful than another trim upgrade

Jim is particularly enthusiastic about the power-opening front trunk. It gives this pickup a covered, lockable place for luggage and other items that would otherwise ride in the cab or require a bed cover. He demonstrates the space, the lower storage area and its drain.

That is a practical reason to consider a Lightning beyond acceleration or screen size. A pickup bed is useful for bulky cargo, but not everything you carry belongs in an open bed. The front trunk gives smaller items their own place while leaving the rear load area available.

He also raises the rear seats to show the cabin’s floor space and storage. Before buying, try loading the things you actually carry. Check the frunk’s powered operation and seals, the rear-seat folding mechanism and whether any included accessories are still present. Those checks are more useful than assuming two trucks with Flash badges have been kept in the same condition.

## Verify the options before comparing prices

![Pro Power Onboard electrical outlets in the Lightning Flash pickup bed](<https://pickuptrucktalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/2025-lightning-flash-337.webp>)

This review truck includes optional 9.6-kW Pro Power Onboard, with electrical outlets in the bed and additional outlets in the frunk. Jim also shows the tailgate step, a work surface on the tailgate and a spray-in bed liner. These are useful features to identify on a listing because they affect how the truck works for you.

The reviewed Flash has a manual tailgate rather than the power-operated tailgate offered higher in the lineup. It also lacks the full-width rear light bar Jim expected. Neither detail changes the powertrain, but both illustrate why seeing the actual truck matters more than judging it from the front-end styling.

The Max Trailer Tow Package is another important distinction. Ford lists a maximum conventional towing capacity of 10,000 pounds for a properly equipped 2025 Flash with that package, versus 7,700 pounds without it. The specific truck’s configuration and load still matter. A trailer brake controller visible in a photo does not replace checking its equipment and ratings.

Jim’s original sticker discussion totaled $74,685 for the reviewed vehicle. That is historical context, not today’s asking price or a guaranteed savings figure. Compare current examples with the same battery, equipment and condition, including the charging cord and adapter. The Flash’s appeal is its mix of technology and pickup utility, but the right deal is the truck that includes the features you will use.
