For this BMW X3 recall, the attachment for the interior cargo rail may become damaged in a rear crash and result in the cargo rail detaching. Interior cargo rail detachment during a rear [collisions with a large truck]() or even a small passenger car can increase the risk of injury. Dealers will replace the rear cargo rail attachment bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 30, 2024. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417. If you own a 2018-2013 BMW X3, be sure to consult the [NHTSA recalls portion of the website]() and type in the specific VIN of your SUV to see if this current recall applies to your vehicle.
