For this Ford Maverick recall, the Body Control Module (BCM) may inadvertently deactivate one or both rear tail lights. Rear tail lights that fail to illuminate can reduce the vehicle’s visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will update the BCM software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 20, 2024. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 24S24. If you own a 2022-2024 Ford Maverick, be sure to consult the [NHTSA recalls portion of the website]() and type in the specific VIN of your truck to see if this current recall applies to your vehicle.
