Yup, that’s right. The beastly off-road machine featuring the 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 producing 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque is dead. The [crew cab truck we jumped]() and can return a 0-to-60 MPH in 4.5 seconds and the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 108 MPH is gone. And yeah, this is the truck Ram has said they can’t build enough of to meet demand. ## **2024 Ram 1500 TRX new features and colors** The 2024 Ram 1500 TRX will go out with a bang with a Final Edition. It will be offered in eight exterior colors, including three new and unique ones – Delmonico Red, Night Edge Blue and Harvest Sunrise. The Final Edition will feature: “Satin Titanium bead-lock capable wheels with a matching 6.2-liter hood badge and bed decal. Inside, the exclusive content includes Patina stitching on the dashboard, seats and an embroidered ‘TRX’ seat back logo.” There will also be a special Final Edition graphic on the cluster start-up screen. The center console badge will showcase the build number while the passenger side dashboard badge is done up as well with a Satin Titanium finish and Triaxle-suede door panel inserts. The interior also includes 4×4 weave matte carbon fiber on the instrument panel, doors, console and steering wheel. Additional standard equipment includes a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system, Head-Up Display, digital rearview mirror and 8-way power driver and passenger seats. Safety features include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, pedestrian emergency braking blind-spot and cross-path detection and ParkSense front and rear park assist with stop. Ram says the truck Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition is available at a starting price of $117,625, plus $1,995 destination, and will be available starting in the fourth quarter of 2023. ## **The bottom line** While the Ram 1500 TRX Final Edition will mark the close on one exciting chapter for the Ram truck brand, the bigger story is the death of the 6.2-liter supercharged V-8. Stellantis has made it a priority to kill this engine — not only in this truck but also in its Dodge muscle cars as well. Ram and Dodge’s CEO Tim Kuniskis has said in multiple stories that the death of these machines “is what they were forced to do” alluding to the current political climate. What a load of bull. Consumers should be driving the future and getting what they want, not misguided politicians.
