Nobody is going out of business any time soon. ### **\[Related Content: [2024 Honda Ridgeline revealed: 5 things to know]()\]** These results show consumers are still buying trucks in volume — even with high interest rates and somewhat limited selection due to continued shortages. ## **2023 Q2 truck sales winners and losers** Looking closely at the chart, we can see the Ford F-Series trucks, [F-150]() through the [Super Duty F-450](), continue to be on top until you add [Chevy Silverado]() and [GMC Sierra]() together. GM then sells more trucks than Ford, but this is a [continually hot topic of debate]() for both companies. Ram and [Nissan]() continue to struggle to see meaningful sales gains. In both cases, the age of the truck is likely to blame since these are the oldest full-size trucks currently on the market. It also seems like Ram is focusing entirely on its [Ram Rev electric truck](). The [Toyota Tundra]() sees a big jump in sales. With the truck only sharing the San Antonio, Texas, factory with the [Sequoia]() (and not the now-built-in-Mexico Tacoma), it is expected there will be a higher volume of Tundras coming out of the facility. This should help the truck’s sales results. For the midsize truck results, Tacoma reigns on top again with a wide lead — even with a new [2024 Tacoma]() on the way. The Chevy Colorado moves up several spots from our [2023 Q1 report](), even while posting a sales drop. In fact, all the midsize trucks see minimal sales improvement or massive drops except for the [Honda Ridgeline](). That unibody truck continues to grow sales in a very competitive segment. It does this even though there hasn’t been a big overhaul since it came out — just incremental changes. For the new compact truck category, the [Ford Maverick]() continues to see strong demand and Ford has publicly stated its factories simply can’t keep up. The [Hyundai Santa Cruz]() posts a nice sales gain and has been a great seller for the brand. With both models posting gains, this fuels the question of why more automakers don’t build something for this segment. Rounding out the list is the electric trucks. Unfortunately, neither [Rivian]() nor GMC break out their numbers from trucks vs. SUVs sold. So, this list is really just for reference and personal interest.
