But apparently that’s not enough for the folks at GMC as they’re having a “hold my beer” moment. The automaker has just released a new teaser image for the AT4X AEV, which GMC states will be “the most advanced and most off-road capable midsize pickup in the segment.” If you aren’t familiar, AEV stands for American Expedition Vehicles, which is an aftermarket off-road parts store. We’ve seen AEV versions of General Motors trucks before, and they tend to be fairly awesome. We don’t have any details on this newest iteration of the Canyon, and the image shows a Comeup Winch and Multimatic DSSV dampers – both of which are already available on the basic AT4X trim. So, what does the GMC Canyon AT4X AEV version get that the AT4X doesn’t? Well, if the [Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV]() is anything to go by, we can expect better approach/departure angles, extra ground clearance, AEV stamped steel powder-coated and e-coated front and rear bumpers, hot-stamped Boron steel skid plates, race-inspired wheels (also from Salta?), Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires and a lot of AEV badging. **The bottom line** Thankfully, GMC isn’t going to leave us guessing for too long. Along with the teaser image, we have an actual reveal date: July 6. And, we didn’t know it at the time, but we actually already “saw” the GMC Canyon AT4X AEV when GMC revealed the 2024 GMC Sierra AT4X. The video below shows the covered “mystery” truck.
