But as it turns out, this midsize SUV will get a complete redesign in 2024. While I’ve always had a sweet spot for the Murano and its super comfy Zero Gravity seats, it was last redesigned in 2014, and, frankly, it’s starting to show its age. ***\[Editor’s Note: Since writing this article, the redesign estimate has changed from 2024 to the 2025 model year. For 2024, [the only changes we truly see]() involve pricing and trim structure.\]*** While we don’t have any details on the 2024 Nissan Murano just yet, since we know it’s coming, we wanted to take a look at what we think you can expect. ### **Redesigned inside and out** Because this will be a ground-up redesign, we expect the exterior to evolve, taking cues from the new [Nissan Ariya](). The current Murano is a bit bulbous, so expect some of the puffiness to get smoothed out and lighting treatments to get updated. The interior will also get a more minimalist treatment, but I’m hoping it’ll go more in the direction of [the new Rogue]() than the Ariya because buttons. The Ariya has a swath of screenage and touchpoints instead of actual buttons for things like drive modes and HVAC controls. The Rogue has your more traditional setup with buttons and dials. ### **New powertrain?** Currently, the Murano has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This combo delivers 260 horsepower. [Automotive News speculates]() that the 2024 Nissan Murano could get a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. However, since the Rogue [ditched the 4-cylinder turbo for 2022]() and got a 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder turbo with a power bump, we have to wonder if Murano could do something similar. Regardless of engine, the CVT is likely here to stay. ### **Tech stuff** It’s a given that the infotainment system will get bigger and better. Expect to see a 12.3-inch digital cluster as well as a 12.3-inch infotainment touch screen. We’ll also see wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless charging and Amazon Alexa connectivity. Since Ariya is getting an updated ProPilot Assist with a hands-free highway driving capability (think Super Cruise), we’d expect the all-new Murano to get it as well. ### **The bottom line on the 2024 Nissan Murano** Other than the fact the 2024 Nissan Murano will be all-new, we know nothing concrete about it. But looking at the new Rogue and Ariya gives us a pretty good idea of which way the new Murano could go.
