Thanks to a leaked document on the [F150Gen14.com forum](<https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/2023-f-150-order-guide-w-raptor-raptor-r-released.11725/>), we know several of the changes coming for the 2023 Ford F-150. And they’re not what you might expect.

While the changes listed on the order guide and price chart confirm a few items already announced, there are a few curve balls.

### **Raptor R pricing**

Leading off the list is the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R, which [we already covered](<https://pickuptrucktalk.com/2022/07/supercharged-v8-yes-700-hp-2023-ford-f-150-raptor-r-debuts/>), but now we have confirmation on the pricing.

The “base” 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor starts at $77,570, and this includes the now standard 801A equipment group. This is different than it has been since most Ford trucks offer an 800a (100a, 300a, 700a, etc…) package.

Now, if you include option code 802A (think all the options you really want plus that R badging), you’re looking at a total of $109,145 with destination fees. This makes the supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 Raptor R the most expensive F-150 ever offered.

### **Tremor standard with 5.0-liter V-8**

In a surprise move, the 2023 [Ford F-150 Tremor](<https://pickuptrucktalk.com/2020/12/2021-ford-f-150-tremor-details/>) will be offered with a standard 5.0-liter V-8. This trim level, not package, includes things found in the Raptor like featuring a standard F-150 like Raptor-style bash plate, off-road running boards, unique hood and grille with Active Orange highlights and unique trim and technology packages.

It is basically a cheaper version of the Raptor without the widened body and the various Raptor logos.

Historically, Ford has offered the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 as the standard engine on their higher trims and the V8 has been optional.

### **Less cab configurations**

Another change for the 2023 [Ford F-150](<https://www.ford.com/trucks/f150>) includes the Lariat dropping the super cab aka extended cab option.

Ford trucks have been offered in three cab configurations (regular, super cab, super crew) and with the popularity of super crew aka crew cab trucks, we are seeing more trims being offered with only super crew.

This carries into 2023 now with only the XL and XLT being offered in all three cab configurations. All other trims like Lariat and above will only be offered in super crew.

### **Color changes**

As you would expect, there are exterior color changes for the 2023 F-150.

Colors added include:

- Area 51 Blue
- Avalanche
- Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat
- Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat

Colors removed are:

- Smoked Quartz Metallic Tinted Clearcoat
- Space White Metallic

### **Heritage and Rattler editions**

New packages are making their debut this year with both the Heritage edition celebrating 75 years of F-series trucks and the Rattler being offered on the base XL as a more capable off-road truck.

The Heritage edition, an increase of $1,975, will feature a unique color scheme with basically a three-tone setup of the roof and the lower belt line being the same color with the middle body being a different color. Plus, you get a special white “75 Years” logo badge is on the upper center windshield and in the animation on the infotainment screen.

Five color options are available:

- Race Red midsection, with upper and lower Carbonized Gray
- Atlas Blue midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black
- Antimatter Blue midsection, with upper and lower Carbonized Gray
- Avalanche midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black
- Area 51 midsection, with upper and lower Agate Black

Joining the Heritage edition is the [Rattler](<https://pickuptrucktalk.com/2022/03/2023-ford-f-150-rattler-bites-into-base-off-road-offerings/>) with more off-road equipment for a small mark-up in price of $1,500.

### **More expensive**

Overall, the 2023 Ford F-150 is going to get more expensive and that is really for two reasons.

First, the elimination of the Lariat super cab at $49,100 means the base Lariat starts at $56,480.

Second, Ford is eliminating the base equipment packages of 100A, 400A, 500A, 800A on the XL, Tremor, Lariat, and Raptor trims respectively. Things like cruise control and roll-up windows will now be standard on those trucks.

For example, the base Tremor right now starts at $54,120 and the 2023 model will start at $60,110 yet it will come with more standard equipment you might have opted for anywhere.

### **The bottom line on the 2023 Ford F-150**

Less options, more expensive, new colors and new packages are pretty typical year-to-year changes for all truck makers and the 2023 Ford F-150 follows suit. Just have to remember if you want a new F-150, the time is now to start planning. With the delays and shortages, if you wait, you might be looking at the 2024 model year.
