From the interior upgrades to the exterior design tweaks, this already solid three-row SUV gets some nice updates – and a price increase to match. But the big news today is the addition of the rugged XRT trim, which joins the Santa Fe and [Tucson XRT]() models in the Hyundai lineup. ### **New XRT Trim** The new 2023 Palisade XRT trim will get functional and appearance upgrades to make it more off-the-beaten-path ready. On the design side of the spectrum, it will get unique 20-inch wheels, a dark grille finish, black roof side rails, XRT badging and easy-to-clean leatherette seating surfaces. In terms of function, the XRT trim will add cross rails (for carrying something like kayaks), rugged lower bumpers to protect against gravel and skid plate accents. The AWD model will add more functional features including downhill brake control and AWD lock as well as snow and tow modes. ### **No new powertrain** Since this is just a refresh, there is nothing new with the powertrain, and all trims come equipped with the same 3.8-liter V-6 engine and 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine delivers 262 horsepower and 291 pound-feet of torque. ### **Pricing increases** Since the 2023 Palisade adds more tech – like a rear camera mirror, 12-inch infotainment screen and USB-C charge ports – price increases across the board shouldn’t be surprising. If you do a comparison between the 2022 and 2023 models, you’re looking at a base-to-base increase of $1,350 for the SE model, and the top-tier Calligraphy increases $1,610. The good news (and this is where an automaker can get you): The destination fee stays the same at $1,295. We were very impressed with [the overall quality of the 2022 Calligraphy]() trim *and*the fact it was priced around $50k. So, for 2023 the Palisade gets more good stuff, yet holds the line, relatively speaking, on pricing. So, a decked-out three-row SUV with things like heated third-row seats and AWD will top out at just more than $52k. Please, and thank you.
