Here’s what you need to know about this special 4Runner. Looking ahead, the [2024 Toyota 4Runner]() continues to build on its legacy with modern features and off-road capabilities, making it a great choice for adventure enthusiasts. ### **Limited run** Toyota is throwing a lot of 4s around for this special anniversary. The 40th Anniversary Special Edition 4Runner will have limited production, and on 4,040 will be produced. To add a few more 4s into the equation, Toyota notes the 4Runner has had more than 4 million cumulative sales over the past four decades. ### **Heritage graphics** Because the first 4Runner was built on the Toyota pickup platform, steeped in off-road racing, the retro body graphics on the 40th Anniversary Special Edition pay homage to the early racers. In addition to the retro graphics, you’ll see special badging, bronze-colored reverse stitching, anniversary-logoed seats and a standard power moonroof. If you think these throw-back graphics look familiar, you’re not wrong. Think TacoZilla, [the 2021 SEMA build]()from Toyota. ### **Three colors** The 4Runner 40th Anniversary Edition will only be available in three colors: White, Midnight Black Metallic and Barcelona Red Metallic. Bonus: None of these colors are extra-cost options. Other than the specific paint and heritage graphics, other exterior design features include bronze 17-inch wheels, body-color-matched heritage grille and a bronze 40th anniversary logo on the tailgate. ### **![4Runner Anniversary Edition]()** ### **What else is new for 2023?** Also worth noting is a couple of small tweaks for 2023. First the TRD Pro model will be available in Solar Octane. Second, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are now standard on all trims. ### **The bottom line on the 4Runner Anniversary Edition** There is no word on pricing for the Toyota 4Runner 40th Anniversary Edition, but it’s built off the SR5 trim, [which starts at $39,320 for 2022](). So, we imagine it will be priced around $42k. We also don’t know when it will show up in dealers, but late Q3 or early Q4 is a good bet.
