Like a modern-day Paul Revere shouting to people of the coming revolution, there’s a new type of radical change heading our way and it starts with electric vehicles. Though [Ford Motor Co.]() and [General Motors]() have jumped on the EV bandwagon first, Ram won’t be left behind and has, in fact, announced a new program to help inform, educate and excite enthusiasts about the coming EV revolution. It’s appropriately named “Ram Revolution.” ### **What is Ram Revolution?** Ram Revolution is designed to attract customers and excite them about the Ram 1500 Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) coming in 2024. This program, which includes a new [RamRevolution.com]() hub, provides consumers with a closer connection with the brand and its EV philosophy, meaningful updates with unique visuals and content, and an ongoing dialogue that will include the opportunity to provide input as Ram electric trucks are developed. As part of the announcement, the Ram showcased two images of a concept vehicle that is being developed with customer input to inspire the design of the upcoming Ram 1500 BEV. ### **Ram Real Talk** As part of the Ram Revolution, the brand is launching a series of hour-long conversations with consumers at different events. These customer-focused conversations are meant to help people better under EV technology and inform the next generation of Ram truck buyers. (Image courtesy of Stellantis North America) ### **Ram’s electrified future** Yes, Ram seems to be thriving while still making gluttonous, wonderful V-8 powered trucks, including the high-performance [Ram TRX](). But Stellantis has made it quite clear that the future is electric, not V-8. Thus, we’re starting to get a glimpse of that upcoming [Ram electric pickup truck](). According to information from Stellantis, Ram will deliver fully electrified solutions in the majority of its segments by 2025 and a full portfolio of electrified solutions for all of its segments no later than 2030. The brand’s promise is to serve the next generation of Ram customers with a portfolio of products that delivers on real-world demands. Ram will push past what competitors have announced and what customers expect, to deliver a fuller portfolio of technology with more range, power, productivity and convenience. At it’s EV Day last summer, Stellantis revealed there would be four battery-electric-vehicle-centric platforms that will be the backbone of all the electrified vehicles from the automaker – covering everything from the littlest Fiat all the way to the largest Ram. The platforms are as follows: - STLA Small, with a range up to 300 miles - STLA Medium, with a range up to 440 miles - STLA Large, with a range up to 500 miles - STLA Frame, with a range up to 500 miles ### **The bottom line on Ram 1500 BEV** Stellantis can come up with any kind of catchy little saying like Ram Revolution and promote it on whatever website they want, but if the consumer is skeptical, then efforts like Ram Revolution are necessary. There is a lot of uncertainty from consumers — especially pickup truck consumers — related to BEVs. That’s I think Ram would be wise to transition to this revolution by easing consumers in with a [Ram plug-in hybrid electric](). Ram has really found its groove again, [challenging Silverado]() and Ford in sales volume, [safety]() and [reliability]().
