So, there aren’t a lot of updates for the 2022 model year, but there are a couple changes of note. ### Multi-Flex is the big draw GM has always been an innovator in tailgate technology. For 2022, both the Silverado 2500 and 3500 get the [Multi-Flex tailgate]() on all trims. We’ve seen this[tailgate in other GM trucks](), and it’s both handy and versatile. It offers multiple ways to load and several step variants, too. There’s a built-in work surface and even an integrated Bluetooth speaker. The Multi-Flex tailgate is available on all trims of the 1500, so it’s nice to see the 2500 and 3500 getting in on the Multi-Flex action as well. ### New color, new power seat For 2022, the Silverado 2500 and 3500 will get one new exterior color: Greenstone metallic. Also, later in the year, the Power Seat will be available on the custom trim for both the 2500 and 3500. There are five trims for the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD: Work Truck (WT), Custom, LT, LTZ and the range-topping High Country. ### 2022 Chevy Silverado HD specs The specs and configurations are a carryover from the previous model year. But for reference, here are the cab configurations for the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD 2500: - Regular Cab Long Bed (2WD & 4WD) - Double Cab Standard Bed (2WD & 4WD) - Double Cab Long Bed (2WD & 4WD) - Crew Cab Standard Bed (2WD & 4WD) - Crew Cab Long Bed (2WD & 4WD) - And the 2022 Chevy Silverado HD 3500 configurations are: - Regular Cab Long Bed (2WD & 4WD) – single rear wheels - Regular Cab Long Bed (2WD & 4WD) – dual rear wheels - Double Cab Long Bed (2WD & 4WD) – single rear wheels - Double Cab Long Bed (2WD & 4WD) – dual rear wheels - Crew Cab Standard Bed (2WD & 4WD) – single rear wheels - Crew Cab Standard Bed (2WD & 4WD) – dual rear wheels - Crew Cab Long Bed (2WD & 4WD) – single rear wheels - Crew Cab Long Bed (2WD & 4WD) – dual rear wheels ### The bottom line on 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500, 3500 Both the 2500 and 3500 versions of the Silverado get just a few updates for the 2022 model year. These heavy duty trucks aren’t far removed from a major overhaul, so GM didn’t need to reinvent the wheel.
