Publisher Tim Esterdahl even compares this Defender to a [Jeep Wrangler](), which is pretty daring if you know anything about the Jeep fans who follow this channel and site. ### Like something from a galaxy far, far away Watch the video below and tell me you don’t see a stormtrooper on the Nebraska prairie. And its not just the black-and-white exterior that makes it look otherworldly. The ringed lights, exposed bolt accents on the doors, cool starlight windows in the roof, and the Defender puddle lights make this one stand out from the crowd. Another really unique feature is the swing-open rear door with a door-mounted tire. This has its pros and cons. The tire is easy to access for quick changes, but it also makes the door heavier and may lend itself to the rattling sound Esterdahl hears on the highway. ### Practical things to love about the 2021 Land Rover Defender 110 SE Offroad and overland adventurers know a vehicle’s cargo space can take a beating. The Defender’s rubber floor mat in the cargo area and the hard plastic on the backs of the rear seats don’t just look cool, they protect the interior. With 11.5 inches of ground clearance and 35 inches of water fording, you can take the 2021 Land Rover Defender 110 SE just about anywhere. ### A hybrid-electric Defender? Yes, thanks to the hybrid electric motor, the 2021 Land Rover Defender 110 SE has 48 miles of all-electric range meaning short commutes use little to no gasoline, and you still have the gas engine for your weekend fun! This unibody SUV has a 3.0 liter 6-cylinder gas turbo and supercharged engine (V-8 is coming if you need more power!), and it produces 395 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. That should be plenty to get you in and out of the backcountry and then some! The Defender starts at $50k and tops out at around $105k. The model Esterdahl drives in the video comes in at $69,195.
